Media specialist | educator | writer
Having accumulated nearly 20 years of industry experience, her breadth of knowledge covers all aspects of magazine publishing – from editorial and feature writing to online strategies and business development.
As an educator, media specialist and writer, Mary previously led the Features Journalism Programme Group at Southampton Solent University. She currently lectures at Bournemouth University alongside running her own magazine consultancy – themagazineexpert Ltd.
In 2013 she published her first book, How To Launch A Magazine In This Digital Age, (Bloomsbury) and is now working on two more publications – Magazine Business Strategies and Writing Feature Articles. Both are scheduled to be published by Routledge in 2018.
Mary also writes for a range of publications – both print and online – including Writing Magazine, InPublishing and Lovereading.co.uk Her areas of special interests include: author profiles/interviews, magazine business strategies, new title launches, audience research and editorial development.
